James Kirk Bsc (Hons) Dip Arch ADPPA

James Kirk

I am a chartered architect and film maker based in London.

I work at Rick Mather Architects and am a graduate from the University of Bath and the University of Westminster.

At Westminster I studied under William Firebrace and Gabby Shawcross in Design Studio 17, which is a film studio interested in time based architecture, where I received a distinction. My design work in the studio investigated an architecture of long term change of the urban environment promoting a sustainable approach to building and urbanism. My two films London Thatch and A Productive Landscape for the Lower Lea Valley explain my design interests, and approach to architecture.

I am a member of the RIBA and registered with the ARB

I designed the London Dresser with Gabby Shawcross and Hugo Bass for a temporary installation on the Southbank during the London Olympics.
